Brandon Rigby, '16
Majored in: Romance Languages, Literature
Language: Spanish

Brandon studied romance languages, literature, and culture. He also earned a Masters of Nonprofit Management while at UO to complement his studies in the humanities. While in school, he worked as a resident director for a study abroad program in Mexico. He also was a graduate assistant with Global Education Oregon, assisting Spanish speaking programs with outreach advising, and pre-departure orientations. After earning his PhD, Brandon landed a job at the US Consulate in Mexico. He credits professor Cecilia Enjuto Rangel with pushing him to tackle new challenges, like presenting at international conferences and publishing his work. Brandon has found the experience of his dissertation, which focused on bilingual poets, useful to the demands of his current job on the Mexico-US border.
